The Indian Leather Products Association (ILPA), established in 1987, is a premier representative body of manufacturers and exporters of leather and leather products across the country with head office in Kolkata a Regional Office in Chennai.
ILPA works actively worked to bring together manufacturer–exporters and merchant-exporters of leather products of India on a common platform to stimulate growth and development of the leather sector.
It strives to develop and maintain a reciprocal relationship with professional bodies, importers associations and the Chambers of Commerce abroad in order to support and promote export of leather products.
"Another socially and economically relevant project in manpower training activities of ILPA has been in the ILPA Training School for Craftsmen, set up by the West Bengal Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBIIDC). The Commerce and Industries Department, Government of West Bengal, was the nodal body for this project. The School has successfully trained considerable number of craftsmen in the last few years of its operation, who have been successfully inducted by the leather goods industry."
